Maize and Wheat Response to Drought Stress under Varied Sulphur Fertilisation

This study aimed to examine the influence of long-lasting moderate (45% field water capacity—FWC) and severe (30% FWC) stress application sulphur (elemental or sulphate) on growth, yield mineral composition wheat maize. Concentrations macro- micronutrients were determined in aboveground parts plants. Drought caused a marked decrease growth parameters both Under optimal conditions (60% FWC), grain yields grown without not significantly different. Applying elemental an increase under stress, whereas sulphate was more effective adequate supply. Severe lowered yield, regardless fertilisation. Increasing resulted greater reduction maize with average 50% dry mass stress. Both crops maintained relatively high levels (N, P, K, Mg, Ca, S) microelements (Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn) did suffer noticeably from deficiencies such. Sulphur modify these relationships. In conclusion, fertilisation may be recommended cultivation when plants are exposed
